  Agriscience Fair  
     
OVERVIEW      
The Louisiana FFA Agriscience Fair is a competition for FFA members who are interested in the science and technology of agriculture. It is held each year during the Louisiana FFA Convention & Expo. The categories are Animal Systems, Environmental Services/ Natural Resource Systems, Food Products and Processing Systems, Plant Systems, Power, Structual, and Technical Systems, and Social Systems.


2019 INSTRUCTIONS      
Before State Convention:
By May 15th the application and the student research paper should be completed online through the student's FFA.org dashboard.

Copies of both the application and the paper should be submitted electronically or by mail to Kristin Stair at kstair@lsu.edu. If you choose to mail the materials instead, they should be postmarked by May 15th and mailed to:

At State Convention: 
Agriscience Fair will be 10:00 – 2:00 on June 4th. 
Set-up will begin starting at 8:00am on June 4th. Students will be assigned a space to set up their materials. Students will be assigned an interview time by divisions. Exact times will be scheduled once we have our full number of competitors. The full schedule will be made and posted online as well as sent across the AGED list-serv on June 1st.  If you have students who will be competing in both Agriscience Fair and afternoon CDEs please notify the Louisiana FFA office so accommodations can be made.

Students should bring:
Their scientific poster
Their research log book
5 copies of their research paper

DO NOT BRING:
live animals
bacteria or cultures
props
anything that requires electricity or special space accommodations

The project should be limited to the paper, the poster and the log-book. 
Students should be prepared for a 10 – 15 minute interview and be able to answer questions about their project and research. If the students are competing as a team, both students will need to be able to answer questions about the project equally.

Projects should be removed by 4:00 on June 4th.
