 r. Chris Bennett and Mr. Heath Lucas\, coordinators of the 2025 Area I Sma
 ll Engines CDE. If you have a team that may qualify for the Area 1 CDE\, p
 lease read this email thoroughly.\n\nThe 2025 Area 1 Small Engines CDE wil
 l take place Friday\, March 14th at the Farm Shop on the LA Tech South Cam
 pus. Team check-in will start at 8:00 am and the CDE will begin at 9:00 am
 .  Team contestants will be designated as A and B at check-in. Student ass
 ignment for troubleshooting and engine assembly will be determined by draw
 ing.\n\nThere will be a 50-question multiple choice exam from the Small En
 gines CDE test bank as well as 10 samples for the parts identification pra
 cticum. We will use parts from the 900 series engine for this practicum an
 d every student must provide their own manual for this engine. In addition
 \, students will use the parts manual for their engine model (900\, 950\, 
 or 1150) in the troubleshooting practicum if a parts request is necessary.
  The parts manuals and CDE rules can be found on the Louisiana FFA website
  under the small engines section of the CDE/LDE portion of the website. \n
 \nAs a reminder\, teams should bring pencils and clipboards for the exam a
 nd parts identification. Each team must provide their own stopwatches\, re
 presentative to keep time\, and fuel/oil to crank engines and students mus
 t wear safety glasses during the engine practicums.\n\nTroubleshooting eng
 ines must be received no later than Friday\, March 7\, 2025 in order to ha
 ve sufficient time to set bugs. Engines should be free of all oil and fuel
  and have the school name and team name on the box as well as on the engin
 e itself (ex: LA Tech FFA - Blue Team). Demerits will be assessed and adde
 d during bugging. Engines can be shipped or dropped off at:\n\nLaSalle Hig
