Madelyn Fossum is a recent graduate of Central Lafourche High School and is entering her seventh year as an FFA member. Throughout high school, she was actively involved in numerous organizations and activities, including the National Honor Society, CLHS Beta, 4-H, Girls Varsity Bowling, Terrebonne YHEC, the CLHS Yearbook Staff, and, of course, FFA.
Madelyn has developed her leadership skills through service at the chapter, area, and state levels. She has served as Louisiana FFA State Parliamentarian, Area IV Vice President, and Central Lafourche FFA Chapter President. In addition to her FFA involvement, she held several leadership roles within 4-H, including helping establish the SEWcial Club.
Through FFA, Madelyn discovered a passion for both Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs). She has competed in Meat Evaluation, Poultry Evaluation, Land Judging, Environmental and Natural Resources, Creed Speaking, Prepared Public Speaking, and Extemporaneous Speaking. Advancing to the national level in several of these events provided unforgettable experiences and valuable lessons that have shaped her as a leader. Her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects have included Agricultural Education, Diversified Crop Production, and Specialty Animal Production.
Outside of agriculture, Madelyn enjoys spending time with friends, singing and playing guitar, volunteering, mentoring others, gardening, and operating her small engraving business. Whether she's sharing a laugh with friends or spending a day crawfishing, she enjoys creating meaningful memories and building new relationships.
This fall, Madelyn will continue her education at Louisiana State University, where she plans to major in Agricultural Leadership and Development. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in agricultural law or earn a Ph.D. in education.
Madelyn is excited to connect with FFA members across Louisiana, build lasting relationships, and encourage others to follow their passions as a member of the 2026-2027 Louisiana FFA State Officer Team.
