Owen Kelly is from the small town of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and recently graduated from Oak Grove High School. During high school, he was actively involved in Beta, FCA, Student Council, and, of course, FFA. He was also a varsity tennis player, competing at the state level in both 2024 and 2025.
As a dedicated member of the Oak Grove FFA Chapter, Owen competed in CDEs such as Meat Evaluation and Forestry, as well as in the Agricultural Services Proficiency Award area for two years—earning a bronze rating at Nationals in 2024. Within FFA, he discovered his love for public speaking, placing third in the state in Prepared Public Speaking in 2024 and first in the state in Gulf of Mexico Prepared Speaking in 2023. While he enjoyed competing himself, Owen also found fulfillment in training other members for LDEs and contests, especially Creed Speaking.
Owen served on his chapter officer team all four years of high school, and during his senior year, he held the roles of Chapter President and 2024–2025 Area I President.
Outside of school and FFA, Owen can often be found involved in his youth group, on the pickleball court, playing the ukulele or guitar, or working in the recording studio at his local radio station, Mix 96.7. He also serves on the State Staff for the Louisiana Church of God Youth Fellowship, a position he has held for the past two years.
Now a freshman at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, Owen is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business with a minor in Communications. He is incredibly excited and honored to serve as your 2025–2026 Louisiana FFA State President!
