District 12 Mechanics CDEs
Small Engines - Please bring Troubleshooting Engines to Franklinton High School by Thursday, February13th, by 3:30 PM. Please have them dry of oil and gas, labeled with School and Team. Please make sure engines have been torn down at least once and are in operating condition. Anything out of order will entail deductions per state guidelines.
Electricity - Students need to bring materials to the carpentry shop. Have boards, wire, tools, and writing utensils. No pre cut wire allowed(small pieces) If you can bring a table if your electricity board does not have legs it would be appreciated.
Welding - Every student needs 2 plates that measure 6"x8"x3/8" with a 33-1/2° bevel on both 6" sides. Each student will perform a 2G and a 3G weld. The cap for the 3G weld will be decided the day of the contest by the judges. Among these could be a weave or a 3-stringer.
All safety equipment that students will wear needs to be in good shape, and needs to bring all tools they plan to complete their welding job with. Please bring your own electrodes.
Each school is allowed 6 students max to weld with their blue and gold teams declared for the contest.
