Governor's & Superintendent's Awards
Louisiana FFA recognizes members who excel in livestock, equine, and poultry exhibition with the Governor’s and Superintendent’s Awards. The award areas include:
- Governor’s Award: This award recognizes a member in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade who has an outstanding livestock project that has demonstrated measurable growth.
- Superintendent’s Award: This award recognizes a member in the 7th, 8th, or 9th grade who has an outstanding livestock project that has demonstrated measurable growth.
Livestock & Equine Exhibition Awards
Chapter awards are also earned in livestock, equine, and poultry exhibition. Chapters earn points based on their members’ performances in animal placing, showmanship, and premier exhibitor at the district and state shows. Multiple recognition areas exist within the Livestock and Equine Exhibition Awards:
- Superior Chapter: This award recognizes chapters that have participated in at least one livestock and/or equine show on the district or state level and complete the short form.
- Gold, Silver, or Bronze Chapter: This award recognizes chapters that complete the long form of the application. They provide point totals of their members’ total placings in all district and state shows.
- Top Chapter for Each Species: The highest scoring chapters (high school or middle school) that complete the additional form are ranked for the top chapter in each species (Beef, Dairy (Cattle), Poultry, Swine, Goat, Lamb, Rabbit).
- Equine will recognize the top four chapters overall.
